A Letter: To Sun, With Love!

My dear Sun,
How are you? Wassup? How are summers going? All is well? Ahh…wait… before you start wondering who am I?  Firstly, let me introduce myself. I am young girl named ‘Vichita’, living in a small state dressed with beaches, Goa! I have been brought in the sand which sparkles when you shine… and the air which brightens when you smile. I am writing to you to share my little experience this summer because you are one person who has been with me all these years… relaxing in the summers, playing hide and seek in the monsoon and warming up in the winters.
I am girl belonging to a small orthodox family which lives in a house bonded with values, discipline and culture. Since childhood I have never grew beyond books, never stood second in class and never played out with friends. Life was always about hard work and the obvious followed success.
This summer vacations of my college my mother had planned to teach me all house hold chores, like every other year. The only new thing this vacation was my cousin Kyra, who was coming down for a few days. Kyra is my aunt’s daughter born and brought up in Chennai. She is a chirpy, pretty and bubbly girl of my age. In spite of us belonging to the same blood stream and similar family values, we are poles apart as a person. Kyra has a charm which makes it hard for anybody to deny her anything. She gets done whatever she feels like… No Rules, No plans! Even our old family discipline is charmed by her. She has very different rather eccentric ideas of enjoying vacations, whereas I have never really enjoyed any vacation. So I just did whatever she wanted to!
Up till now, going out in the sun was absolute NO-NO. Mom always scolded sarcastically “Look at you in the mirror”. For her, it was always about my looks and my success. But Kyra kept insisting on going out and like everybody even mom couldn’t deny her. Together, we went everywhere. We played volleyball on the beaches, built sand castles, splashed water on each other and buried our feet in the sand till the waves washed them off. We played in the parks with kids, trying to hide in the corners scratching ourselves everywhere. We spent hours street shopping….actually bargaining! We danced in the pre-monsoon showers, making boats and jumping in the puddles. Of course later fell sick and spent days blabbering while lying on the bed.  We danced wackily on loud music, watched stupid movies on television and at the end of the day we tried to figure out what exactly we were doing all day.
For the first time in my life I had enjoyed the freshness of the open air, the warmth of the sun, the calmness of the sea and the beauty of childhood. After vacationing with Kyra I feel as if I am born all over again. Now, I feel different as a person. Two big things, I have learnt are…
1. Never let the child in you grow up!
2. Live it up with nature; it brings out the beauty in you!
You know why I am writing to you this letter? Because Mr. Glory Forever (Sun), you have always been a friend but I never liked that you tanned me. Today, with Lakme Sun Expert, I can happily hug you and play along. And somehow, I feel that Kyra is like your daughter, Sunshine in my life! Thank you so much Mr. Sunny for illuminating my life!
With Love,
Vichita

A feeling: Warmth of the bed

Not only in the chilly winters, the season of warmity lasts throughout the 365 days, under the deep furs and quills in peace and solace with the thin sheet locking them.

The Day...It all begins with early morning school but...it's not over
                         Then follows shorter tuition hours,
The have to-do daily chores, its too late
Then the moonlight enters the windows
The bulb- like mind realises its time to do some homework
                         H.W...H.W...H.W...H.W...H.W...
Then head raise up, its ten with sympathy says the clockwork...too fast

But then the day ends and I lay on the bed and there is a satisfaction that warms my heart...Well the day has ended and now it is giving me the gift of all the hardships...as I lay on the bed...solitude and completeness.

'Life isn't a bed of roses...but life does have the warmth of the bed...it's on you to work hardly so that you can enjoy that space...Sleep- its ending is a beginning...to new, bright, sunny prospects.'

                                                                                                              It's worth it,

A Thought: A Kid’s Dream

Unadulterated dreams like flying in the sky, living in some ‘Choco’ land, suddenly becoming powerful and turning into a superhero, getting magical powers…can just be a child’s dream.
A kid’s dream is the most beautiful thing in the world. Its restriction-less, bound-less, reality-less…but don’t forget its no ‘LESS’. It’s just a thought…which amuses you beyond the borders of reality. For me it’s like your own fiction book which keeps you dosed up and happy in your world…limitless world. Where there is what you could have ever desired…and seeing this, through your own wondering eyes, your own way makes the experience more ravishing.
Never let that part of you grow up…which knows how to live these endearing dreams. Let the charisma of dreams take you into the roller coaster ride…throughout your happy life.
                                                                                                                                             Dream like never before,
                                                                                                                                                   Visheshika Baheti

A fact: Har Ek Friend Jaroori Hota Hai...

Whether it Mischievous friend, Intelligent friend, Childish friend, Happy go lucky friend, Emotional friend, Practical friend, Trustworthy friend kucch bhi kaho yaar…har ek friend jaroori hota hai! Everyday browsing through the channels I see this advertisement (the airtel commercial); so just gave it a thought.
EXPERIENCE

You must have marvelled why would a mischievous friend be jaroori???
Visualize the normal breaktime classroom scene girls gossiping, some eating their own while some hogging on others! The live orchestra - the boys sitting on the last benches… making songs on their not- so favourite teachers… with benches banging in the background.
Lets add some spice... the vilian enters the scene… clicking her sandals through that corridor during the break! Knock Knock !... she enters the class! Then the real drama begins, the teacher scolding and the student justifying. These boys ultimately had to pay the piper.
How can this experience be jaroori???
Well, when you are a friend of one of those Mischievous boys ….you pity their misfortune !
LESSON:  'Fortune doesn't favour such type of bravery'
But Sachhi yaaaar…. Mischeivous friend ke sath mazaa jaroor aata hai! :D
An encounter with an EMOTIONAL type of friend:
Tired of the daily routine...just decided to have a fun...well...Timepss!
Together with a friend of mine, got hold with one of the most Reactive friend. Teased her, made fun of her and finally got a 'Unexpected' reaction. Eyes moist and voice choking...she was about to cry. Well...I concluded something.
There's something peculiar about Human Nature 'kitna bhi accha dost ho, prank succesful hone par hasi jaroor aati hai.

TEACHING

You must have already thought...An intelligent friend can teach you...and how you can carelessly avoid going to school because there is someone who would teach you all...I need not mention these type of friends are jarrori because we already know about it, they are like gems.
Having a practical and happy go lucky friend, changes your... perception towards life, LIFE IS THE WAY YOU VIEW IT.
LETS US EXPLORE OUR MIND
I discovered that I could do something so meticulous well...I mean I could draw well, only when my childhood friend was interested in it. I just accompanied her to pass out my time.
Laughing your diaphragms out indiffernt to the people around you, fighting on silly issues, singing the cute old nursery rhymes, dancing around merrily- I never knew I could enjoy till I was lucky enough to have a 'Childish Friend'.
The list is endless so are the types of friends, so go on Making Friends and experience the fun with these never ending types of  friends...
                                                                                                                                                              In a way learn,
                                                                                                                                                          Visheshika Baheti
 Afterall,
Its said that you must 'Count your age by freinds, not years.'

An appeal: Ban Moods

I am all dressed up for the party. The telephone rings, my friend tells me to leave (for the party) but I reply, 'NO' and give a silly excuse. Actually I was not in a mood to party. I am in a bad mood phase. I don't feel like eating. Mom is worried about my health! I know she is right but still I am not in a mood. I have the talent of writing but don't write often because I get carried away with my moods. I decide to join the reading club but before joining, I change my decision because at that point of time I was not in a mood.

You lose the fun -> Responsible -> SELFISH MOOD. Your health gets affected -> Reason -> IGNORANT MOOD. Your talent remains unpolished -> Cause -> LAZY MOOD. Your are not able to do something extra -> Due to -> LAID BACK MOOD

These Moods which are meant to be yours unknowingly, affect the people around you. We take hasty decisions just following are unconscious demands(moods) but leaving our beloved ones in distress.  Like not eating our food - leaving mom hyper tensed, giving excuse for not coming to the party - upsetting your friend!

Its not others but it's YOU, who is losing out the most. While YOU were wasting your time being moody the others were working, achieving and enjoying every minute of their life!

Remember in this world not all are moody and moods will not be a hurdle for them. So, it is important that you don't get swayed away by these shortcomings. You just need effort, determination and force from your part to overcome these mood swings and soon you will rule over them.

                                                                                                                                        Its me,
                                                                                                                                  Visheshika Baheti
